Mindfulness; how it helps to heal from stress

Often when I am seeing clients  for counseling I am asked “how do I start to accept myself more, how do I start to feel less anxious or stressed?” Of course there are many areas we can address however presence is absolutely a key.When we become present and accept whatever this moment has to offer, we immediately become more peaceful.
Also presence starts to take us away from being caught up in our ego identity. If we are trapped in being the person we feel we should be , we are not free at all.We spend our lives attempting to measure up to something that is fictionally created in our minds.This only serves  to keep us caught in a mask and not free to honor our deepest self.
